On the last chance to fly (our pregnancy almost reached 32 weeks – and for most airlines it is already the limit to fly), Dennis and I decided to fly to Surabaya to before settled in Bangkok for some months. Dennis stayed over for the long weekend and I extended my stay a bit more. One night, we decided to watch Spiderman – just because cinema in Indonesia is so good (those recliner chairs!). We asked Peggy, Petty, and Marcel to come along and they agreed. However since they are not giving answers straight away, we bought the ticket already assuming that they can bought the ticket right after since they said Marcel is going to be in the mall.
Before the movie, we promised to meet my BFF and the husbands for some QT before Dennis returned back to Bangkok. When we arrived at the cafe, some suspicious things were happening that got me thinking, “What’s going on?”
And yes, by the time we got in: SURPRISE! Not only my BFF was there but also my families, and other friends. On the corner, stand a set of decoration with moon and balloon and stars, and it struck me right away, it’s my baby shower! 😀 Few months ago in one whatsapp group, I jokingly said to the group, “Get me Sailor Moon baby shower, please!” hahaha and it became real!

For those who don’t know, Sailor Moon was my favorite anime character since I was very young. She was the first heroine that I know, and I was so crazy collected Sailor Moon stuffs and cards when I was elementary school. My sisters and I grew up knowing all the Sailor Moon series and comics, and even had Sailor Moon The Movie that my uncle in Japan recorded from TV – in Japanese without subtitles. And yet we watched that over and over again.

After we arrived, the crew just pulled me right away and dressed me up in this PEGGY HARTANTO gown + Sailor Moon wig, so I would look like Princess Serenity – the princess version of Sailor Moon; completed with the moon sign on the forehead. They played the Sailor Moon intro for my “grand entrance”. It was so much fun!

Food was provided by Monopole Coffee Lab Surabaya and they had variety of mouth drooling Indonesian home-cooked recipe and desserts! Yum-Yum!
After the food, there came the games! There were all baby related and everyone had their biggest laugh. The most memorable moment though, was when Dennis and Marcel had to compete to finish milk from the bottle the fastest, with their face disguised as Chibiusa. Best moment!

Thank you everyone! It was a perfect baby shower for me – I had the best time, best laugh, and my childhood dreams coming true to be Princess Serenity (with a big belly!) LOL, it was a precious memory and for sure will share it with the baby when she understands later.
Oh and for the cinema ticket – we gave it to Marcel’s brother and the wife. Haha!
