P.S. This list will keep changing based on our discoveries, so feel free to always check it out 🙂
Our favorite thing to do on weekend, when me and Dennis are both free — are exploring the brunch scene in Bangkok. After more than a year staying in this city, here are places that we kept coming back, or planning to come back:
ROAST
Housed at the very top of The Commons, a co-living concept open mini mall in Thonglor area, ROAST is like the crowning glory of all of the delicious eateries there. There’s a reason why this place is always packed – and doesn’t accept reservations on the weekend. Decor – checked, extensive range of menus – checked, open kitchen – checked, cool customers – checked, great coffee – checked.
CREPES & CO.
I would describe this place as a homey place to enjoy slow brunch with family, and the best crepes variety in town. Crepes & Co. Thonglor (main branch) is located in a house surrounded by greeneries. Their breakfast set is HUGE! You can make the crepes or pancake as custom as possible – and ordering it in English.
SARNIES BANGKOK
Branched out from a famous cafe in Singapore, Sarnies Bangkok is not only stand out for its coffee. Spacious cafe takes over a 150-year-old corner shop-house that once was a boat repair shop with brushed concrete, distressed brickwork and leafy plants.
HOLEY ARTISAN BREAD
Once you come in, you will be greeted by array of pastries and cakes displayed on the glass racks of Holey. Yes, the place is famous for the high quality of pastries and breads. However, my favorite is lemon cake with glazed top. Yum!
PATOM ORGANIC LIVING
Words to describe this place is: LUSH and ORGANIC. The building itself is modern but the surrounding makes you feel like you’re away from the hustling city of Bangkok. Functioned as the showroom of Patom products, the food and drinks provided resonates with value of the brand: to promote ecological awareness and sustainable living.
VEGANERIE
It is not uncommon to be vegan or vegetarian in Bangkok, and Veganerie for sure is contributing an easier, tastier, better factor to be one. With an extensive offering from Western to Asian, the family-run restaurant made sure they serve every delicious dishes (including faux meat) without any animal product. And you don’t need to be a vegan to enjoy them; with the inviting down to earth decor, you will enjoy hanging out here with friends or families over a healthier meal.
BKK BAGEL BAKERY
This little (25-30ish seating arrangement) bagel shop serves one of the best New York style bagel in town – and as well my introduction to bagel world. The shop itself is very straightforward – you can choose the bagel from the arrays on the counter and choose the fillings, either it is the savoury or the sweet ones. My favorite – Salmon with cream cheese and dill. 1 bagel looks small, but it is pretty fulfilling that I hardly can finish it even with empty stomach.
Hope you love our selections, and happy brunching!
